Since he graduated cum laude from Boston College Law School in 1984, Neil Sutton has tried dozens of cases, involving issues from professional malpractice and products liability to fall-downs and motor vehicle collisions. His most significant success was a jury verdict in favor of the estate and widow of a plumber who was buried alive in a dangerous and unprotected trench. Under a rarely-used theory of law, a commercial property management company was held legally responsible for failing to make sure that precautions were taken to make the trench safe for workers to use.
Neil is a cum laude graduate of The University of Pennsylvania. He has lectured on pharmacist malpractice, motor vehicle trials, evidence, and uninsured motorist law, served on the faculty of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, and co-authorized articles on the law of evidence. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association's Litigation Section.
"We have never taken a case that we were not willing to take to trial. Defendants and insurance companies offer reasonable settlements only because they know that if they don't, they will have to answer to a jury."
